Weekender: Family Date Night

Weekender: Family Date Night

There are only so many times that I can cook at home, order pizza, or go eat at a kid-friendly restaurant before I’m craving a more  grown up experience.

We’ve been wanting to check out a new local Italian restaurant but weren’t sure how kid-friendly it was going to be.  So we packed up the iPad (with plenty of Eli’s favorite movies loaded), changed out of our “around the house” clothes and hopped in the car for a Family Date Night.

Black and white is always in style and the geometric print of this blouse is great at disguising anything you’re trying to hide.  Pair it with your favorite pair of skinny jeans (I couldn’t fit my ankle into the pair shown, it’s just for the visual effect).  Add some bold gold jewels, a cross body large enough to hold a diaper, travel wipes and an iPad, and finish it off with your favorite black flats.  There you have the perfect Family Date Night ensemble.

Comfy, stylish, and strong!

People joke that Eli has been toted around to more restaurants than your average adult, so he should be a pro at this point.  But God bless him, he has his moments.  While I hate to stick an electronic device in front of my child to “shush” him, I’m not above treating him to his favorite movie or educational game on the iPad so that his dad and I can enjoy our artisan cheese plate and glass of wine in peace.  Eli’s favorite game?  Monkey Lunch Box.  Favorite movie?  Lorax.
